Chronos Energy is partnering with a leading developer and operator of District Energy schemes across the UK. With an established portfolio of large-scale heat networks in major cities and ambitious expansion plans, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation at the forefront of the UK's heat decarbonisation sector.


We are recruiting for an Electrical Engineer (LV) to provide specialist low-voltage electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering expertise, supporting projects from concept through to completion. The role will involve delivering electrical and control system designs, providing technical assurance of subcontractor design and installation, and supporting the safe, efficient integration and ongoing operation of energy centre plant.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance with company procedures.

  • Produce LV electrical, instrumentation and control designs for energy services projects.

  • Prepare design calculations, reports, specifications, schedules and AutoCAD drawings.

  • Ensure designs comply with current legislation, standards and industry best practice.

  • Monitor workload, progress and resource requirements within the team.

  • Plan and oversee design verification, testing and commissioning activities.

  • Manage external consultants and subcontractors where required.

  • Collaborate with business development, design, commissioning and project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide technical assurance of subcontractor designs and installations.

  • Deputise for the Head of Electrical Engineering when required.


Skills & Experience:

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable.

  • Proven LV electrical design experience within industrial or energy services environments.

  • Knowledge of power generation and electrical distribution systems.

  • Ability to produce technical reports and engineering documentation.

  • Experience with industrial control systems and Building Management Systems (BMS).

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.

  • Experience with LV electrical design software (e.g. Trimble) is desirable.

  • Knowledge of CHP, boiler and plate heat exchanger (PHE/HEX) control systems is advantageous.

  • Understanding of G99 and G100 regulations.

  • Qualified Supervisor experience is desirable.

  • Experience producing Functional Design Specifications (FDS), control panel specifications and industrial control system designs is advantageous.
